Everything about the Michelin Guide and our experiences at its restaurants.

Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide is a global benchmark in the field of gastronomy and restaurants, renowned for its prestige and rigor in selecting the best restaurants and chefs.
Since its first publication in 1900, the Guide was a 400-page book with practical, tourist, and advertising information that was distributed free of charge to motorists. The guide has evolved to become an indispensable compendium for lovers of good food and culinary travel.
Restaurants are evaluated by a system of anonymous inspectors who visit and evaluate restaurants based on the following criteria:
- Quality of products
- Mastery of culinary techniques and cooking methods
- Harmony of flavors
- Personality of the cuisine reflected in the dish
- Consistency of quality over time
Michelin Guide Categories
Based on the characteristics mentioned above, Michelin Stars are awarded solely and exclusively to reward the quality of a restaurant’s cuisine at a given moment. Factors such as customer service, table service, or the atmosphere of the restaurant are not taken into consideration when awarding stars. These criteria are noted by the inspectors, but they do not influence the decision to award stars to one restaurant or another.
The meaning of each star is as follows:
- One Michelin Star: Excellent cuisine. Worth a visit!
- Two Michelin Stars: Exceptional cuisine. Worth a detour!
- Three Michelin Stars: Unique cuisine. Worth a special journey!
In addition, the Michelin Guide also awards “Bib Gourmand” to establishments that, although they do not achieve star status, offer excellent value for money.
Some restaurants are also listed in the Michelin Guide but have not (yet) been awarded any stars.
Finally, they provide a price level based on the number of €, which corresponds to the average price of a full meal without drinks, chosen from a menu and/or à la carte.
- € (<€35) – Without sacrificing anything
- €€ (€35-60) – Treat yourself
- €€€ (€60-100) – A special occasion
- €€€€ (>€100) – Go crazy
